Flashback Friday

Touch a Truck
This is an annual event in Las Vegas. I took the boys and they had a great time. They were able to touch, look & climb all over the different types of transportation. Limos, trash trucks, a hot air balloon, busses, fire trucks, UPS trucks, a zamboni, concrete tucks, race cars, off road trucks, police cars and much more. They were turning on blinkers, sirens & honking every horn you can think of.
Talen was asking questions all day. He was interested as to how things worked. We were climbing up the fire truck and he asked me who sat in the passenger seat. I told him it was the Co-Pilot! The firefighters overheard me and started laughing. They told me they call it the “Captains” seat. I told them it was the same thing. The fireman went to get their captain for me to meet him. He got a good laugh at me calling him the “Co-Pilot”! We had a great time and the boys enjoyed the extra attention they received from their mother insulting the Captain of the fire truck!

Dirt

We had a great time at Talen’s baseball practice last night. He is doing so well and he can’t wait to play in a real game. His team name is the Firecrackers! His coach brings sparklers to every practice and Talen just loves that!
As practice was wrapping up another mom from our team came up to me and told me that Caden was eating and playing in the dirt! Was she serious? Why was she looking at me weird when I wasn’t telling him to stop?
How dare I let my 2 year old play in the dirt!
I am so thankful for being a mom to two great BOYS! I am also thankful that I love playing in the dirt with them.

Flashback Friday

With Fathers day coming up in a couple of days, I thought this picture would be appropriate. I love this picture of Jared and Talen (2 years) taken at Laguna Beach. I am so thankful for Jared and the relationship that he has with our boys. You can tell so many things through the eye of a camera. No words can describe the love and bond between a father and his child. I am so proud of Jared for the father that he is. Our boys rely on him for so many things and he has so much patience with them. If you ask either of our boys who their best friend is … they always respond their DAD!!
In pre-school Talen’s teacher asked the class what their favorite store was. The class responded with the candy store and a variety of toy stores. Talen’s response was Home Depot. She asked him what he liked so much about Home Depot. He went on and on of how his dad takes him there to look at hammers, tools, paint and that he likes to smell the 2X4’s. We got a good laugh out of that one. I am so grateful for Jared and the good example he is to our family. I know that he is a great example and will continue to teach our boys the art of love and hard work. Thank you to all the Fathers we have in our lives. We have truly been blessed with great Fathers and teachers.

Flashback Friday

For those who know me know I am NOT a creative person. The only thing I have going for me is a really nice gift wrapping skill and beautiful bows. Many of my creativity comes from others that allow me to use their ideas. Saying that... I introduce to you "Flashback Friday"!!

In August 2007 the boys and I went on a road trip to California for a wedding. Talen (2) & Caden (3 1/2 mos.) Jared was working and wasn't able to join us. I didn't take any pictures of Caden because he was sound asleep in his car seat most of the time! These pictures were taken at Corona Del Mar, one of my favorite beaches. The Taylor family hosted a wonderful bonfire for us including their famous dessert "dough boys".

Do you wear "Grandma" clothes too??

Jared bought me a skirt from one of my favorite stores. I love it and receive so many compliments when I wear it. I was out shopping on Saturday and a group of young ladies (20ish) asked me where they could find a skirt like that. When I told them I got it from Coldwater Creek there was a chuckle amongst the girls. I asked them why they were laughing and one of them piped up with, "that's the store my grandmother shops at!"
OUCH!!
