St. Louis

My life has been so busy and exciting. I feel that there is NEVER a dull moment. This last weekend Talen and I were able to fly to St. Louis to visit family. A trip well overdue and a trip I can’t wait to repeat. We were only there for one day of fun plus travel time, but it was very exciting and we had many activities planned. I thought I would jot down a few memories:

Mailbox baseball: We flew in very late Friday night and went to bed. The weather was wonderful and I was sleeping with the window open. (Something we don’t do in Las Vegas). I woke up to the sound of a loud car and people yelling. My first thought was that the cops had chased bad guys and they were coming in the house. However… when I actually came to it and put my glasses on… I realized that these kids were playing a friendly game of mailbox baseball. (Something I have only heard about). Instantly the adrenaline started to rush and I busted open Reid’s bedroom door… he was on the phone with the cops and getting dressed for a chase. My first thought was to grab my shoes and join him… but I knew Gina would be alone with the kids and stayed behind. Gina and I waited for the police and Reid took off. We met with the cop and had a nice chat… I don’t know why he stayed to chat when the players were still out there. (Maybe it was the good looking company that he had). He finally left and Reid returned home an hour later. Turns out Reid chased the kids down… waited for the police to arrive and the report was written up. I guess Reid knew what their next move was going to be. I wonder how that could be??? Had he done that before? I’ll stop with the questions.

Wrestling Tournament: We were able to witness another Championship. Tyler took gold. What a proud moment. He has worked so hard and has the moves down perfectly. He is the quiet wrestler. It was funny to see all the coaches out there fired up with their kids. I can’t believe the things I saw with these coaches. It’s amazing that they expect their kids to have good sportsmanship, but the kids can only learn by example. Tyler knows just what to do and has the slickest moves. I can’t wait to see how the next two weeks turn out. The big tournament at the college will be in two weeks. This will be one mat with thousands watching. I can’t wait to see the footage of that one! We are very proud of Tyler and what he has accomplished.

Sand Volleyball: It is always fun when the Sullivan Family gets together for any sport. We love to play and love competition. One day we will hopefully live closer for more challenges.

Our trip had to come to an end. Talen and I packed up our things and took off for the airport. We had such a great time and can’t wait to go back with our whole family. It’s just not the same without Dad and Caden. On the flight back home, Talen fell asleep on me. I was pretty tired myself and I fell asleep on the person next to me. That poor man!!! I didn’t even know his name. He said it was tolerable until I started snoring and drooling… I really hope he was kidding. Unfortunately as Jared would know… I am very certain there was drooling and snoring involved.
It was a great trip and good to see my family!
Thank you to Reid, Gina and the boys for hosting.
Gina… I’m so glad that you are apart of our family!
Love you guys!

Pay it Forward...

I saw this on my cousins blog and I thought it sounded like fun. Here is what you do...the first 3 people to leave a comment on this post will receive, at some point during the year, a handmade gift from me. What it will be and when it will arrive is a total surprise! The catch is that you must participate as well. Before you leave your comment, type up a pay it forward post on your blog to keep the fun going. Then come back and let me know you are going to play and sit back and anticipate the arrival of your gift! Please leave your e-mail address in your post to me.
I am looking forward to this. Gives me an excuse to pull out the new sewing machine! I have no idea how to use it, but this will be a great learning experience.
